Clerical Support Unit

406 Fire Logistics operates four Clerical Support Units. We are a full-service copy and print shop, supporting area incident management teams in the Forest Service Region One – covering Montana, Northern Idaho, and North Dakota. Each unit has several copiers, computers, printers, laminators, and plotters stocked with various paper and stationery supplies. We specialize in outstanding customer service and are happy to provide additional services to support IMT’s needs.

Electrostatic Sprayer

Fire camps are known to spread infection, who hasn’t gotten camp crud on an assignment before. With a COVID-19 outbreak, an entire camp would be shut down. 406 Fire Logistics is happy to add to its services an easy solution to disinfect camp and workspaces. With the Clorox Total 360 machine, 406 Fire Logistics can sweep each tent, yurt, or classroom each night after 10 Pm when workers leave for the evening. The Clorox system is the same disinfectant used in Schools, Hospitals, airports, and commercial buildings. Safe on electronics and kills COVID-19 along with other germs to provide a safe COVID free workspace.

IPads

At the request of one of the Northern Rockies IMT’s in 2019, we added ten iPads. The iPads come in a shippable hard case with Collector, Survey 123, Avenza Maps, and Zoom meeting preinstalled. Each iPad comes with a Verizon air card, Apple Business Manager, with Apple Mobile Device Management (MDM). MDM allows easy administration of all ten iPads through a single portal. Updates and installing additional apps are completed through the portal and don’t require the iPads to be present.

Mobile Video Broadcast Unit

The Mobile Video Broadcast Unit was created in response to the 2020 pandemic year. 406 Fire Logistics has worked with a local company to provide cutting edge streaming services. With COVID-19, we wanted to add a solution for IMT’s to stream briefings and public meetings and manage Zoom meetings with a scheduler. The system provides the ability to live stream Facebook, YouTube, Zoom, and other social media sites. The four-camera system offers different camera angles and allows graphics such as fire maps, safety messaging, and other relevant messaging or information to be displayed while the presenter is talking. If the presenter needs to be displayed with a graphic map, then a picture in picture function allows the audience to see the speaker and the graphic in one shot.

GIS Trailer

In 2019 we added GIS trailers to the fleet. Each GIS trailer comes with Dell computers with an iCore7 processor, 1 TB SSD storage, 64GB of Ram, and an upgraded graphics card with large monitors. ArcGIS Pro is preinstalled along with Windows 10 and the latest version of Microsoft Office. Each unit has a satellite internet kit on board, providing essential satellite internet thorough Hughes Net Gen 5 Business. The trailer has workstations for two team GIS specialists to operate in, which can be expandable to 4 workspaces for additional workers.
